Subj: Contractor recommendations... Parks... and Swim Club
From: LEANNMAC@aol.com

This is a wonderful website! I am thrilled that neighbors have undertaken to develop a website and to organize community meetings and look forward to getting involved.

We've had our kitchen remodeled, stairs and floors replaced, and our roof replaced. We are hoping to replace windows soon and also appreciate recommendations. The company which replaced our stairs 2 and 1/2 years ago: DRS Stairs - both service and quality were excellent. For the roof: Integrity Roofing replaced our roof and the roofs of at least four of our neighbors last summer and we're all very satisfied customers. Our kitchen was remodeled and floor replaced 2 1/2 years ago by MAM and while we're reasonably satisfied with the end result, they were awful to work with; on a positive note, I read recently in one of their ads that they are now under new ownership.

I have been writing to the City regarding possibilities of having a park developed within walking distance to our neighborhood. I was informed that I'd have to settle for the closest, La Colina, which is 1.1 miles away, or the new 4 acre park to be built at 85 and Cottle. I wonder if others living at the end of Cottle Road behind Curie towards the foothills are also interested in pursuing development of a park in walking distance to our area (okay, I know, 1.1 miles is not so far, however, it's also not a likely place for the local neighbors to run across each other for a few minutes to chat).

Finally, we would like very much to be able to join a swim and tennis club near our home. Apparently, we are located one block too far from Rancho Santa Teresa to qualify as members. Are there any plans to build another one anywhere in the area? Is anyone else interested? Are there any available sites that neighbors recommend nearby in case we could encourage development of another club?

Any news regarding a replacement for Lucky's?
