Youth job fair set for Oct. 16 at Oakridge mall
A job fair for Almaden Valley youths is set for Oct. 16 at Westfield Oakridge shopping mall.
The event is geared toward job seekers age 16 to 20, and it will include workshops from 9 to 11 a.m. on interviews, résumès and other job-hunting topics. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. in the Sears courtyard, between Sears and Andersen Bakery at the mall at 925 Blossom Hill Road.

Pioneer High School students will collect e-waste
Electronic waste will be collected in the back field parking lot of Pioneer High School on the first Saturday of each month through May.
The next event is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 1290 Blossom Hill Road on Oct. 2.
The group will collect old TVs, computers, monitors, microwaves, radios and other electronic items. They will not accept refrigerators, large appliances, furniture, fluorescent bulbs or paint.
The event is a collaboration between the Pioneer High School Education Foundation and 1st Choice Recycling, and it helps raise money for the foundation.
Coat drive at Sleep Train runs through October
Sleep Train is collecting new winter coats for families in need in its annual coat drive.
The drive continues through Oct. 31 at all its locations, including at 858 Blossom Hill Road. The store’s hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
