Los Paseos 35th Anniversary!

Our community of Los Paseos is 35 years old now. While most of us haven't been residents of the neighborhood for that long, there are still many original owners out there. Congratulations to all of you who help to make Los Paseos a special place to live.

Association Dues for 2003

Los Paseos Association dues will increase in 2003. The rate for Homeowners is $299.25, and the rate for Associate Members is $441.00 Invoices will be mailed out in approximately a month.

Spaghetti Dinner Coming!

We have scheduled a Spaghetti Dinner at the Clubhouse on Saturday, March 1st. In addition to the spaghetti and delicious sauce, we will be serving salad, garlic bread, dessert, and beverages. More information will be sent out closer to the date. Be sure to mark your calendar!

Financial Planning

Primerica presented a financial planning seminar for Los Paseos members and Associates on January 7th. If there is enough interest, another one will be scheduled. Once again, there will be no charge. Please contact Sharon LaRosa at the Clubhouse if you would like to attend a session in the future.

Neighborhood Safety

There have been a number of car break-ins in the community recently, and even one car stolen out of a homeowner's driveway in early December. To minimize the likelihood of your being a victim in the future, please observe the following precautions:

  1. When possible, keep your cars in your garage.
  2. Lock your vehicles.
  3. Leave nothing visible on the seats or floor of any vehicle.
  4. If you see anything happening that causes you concern, call the police immediately.
In addition, the fence and the gate around the tennis court were broken. There was some damage done in the men's restroom at the Clubhouse, too. Sharon LaRosa, our Clubhouse Manager, is working with the Neighborhood Watch program and with our City Councilman, Forrest Williams, to set up a community meeting. We will let you know when a date for the meeting is determined. The most important thing you can do is call the police if you see or hear anything that doesn't look right!

Clubhouse Rentals

The next time you're looking for a place to hold a party, think about the Los Paseos Clubhouse. It's perfect for birthday and anniversary parties, family reunions, weddings, and showers, too. The location is convenient, it's inexpensive, and well-equipped for your event. Use of the kitchen is included, and there are folding chairs and tables, as well as barbecue facilities for your party. Call for available dates and cost.

Lifeguards and Gate Attendants

The deadline for applications for Lifeguard and Gate Attendant positions for the 2003 swim season is March 31st. Lifeguards must have Red Cross Lifesaving and First Aid credentials, and Gate Attendants must be at least 14 years old. Contact Sharon LaRosa at the Clubhouse to obtain an application. No applications will be accepted after the deadline.

Property Maintenance

Garbage and recycle carts and yard debris are to be stored out of sight, in side or back yards, until the day before your pick-up day. Receptacles are to be removed from the street and front of your house by the next day after pick-up.

No receptacles should be stored in front yards or driveways.

San Jose municipal law prohibits parking any vehicle on the street for longer than 72 hours. If you have a car, truck, or RV that is not moved within this time period, it may be ticketed and towed.

If you need to dispose of any large items, call Recycle-Plus. They will pick up any three large items for $19.00. Contact them at 277-2700.

A Reminder-If You Plan to Remodel or Landscape…

If you're planning to make any major changes to your home or property, you will need to complete a project form for the Architectural Committee of the Los Paseos Homeowners Association. Call Sharon LaRosa at the Clubhouse to get a form. The City of San Jose also requires that you provide this documentation in accordance with the CC&Rs to obtain a building permit.
